I have so much scrapping to catch up on I've set myself a goal of 1000 pages for this year. Oh hope you were sitting down for that! So here's proof that I've started. Its from the sketch I offered the other day. The font is ratinfested mailbox. Love it. And there's a mask, torn paper and the background. Very simple, but I like it.

Its time for another sketch. There can be 7 pics, or 1 big one and 6 embellishments. Whatever grabs your fancy. Just get scrapping. Feel free to comment with a link to your page so I can drool over your handiwork.

Welcome to 2012!

I'm starting this year off with something a little different. I've had some good time off, my scraproom has become an absolute disaster area, and trying to access let alone sort through supplies just makes me cringe. So I thought I'd start off quietly and easily with a digi page.

Now I know most people that stop by here are looking for GSD or SVG or KNK files. But I'm fairly certain that most of you scrapbook as well. So if you don't need the digi file (its PSD format), that is fine, just be inspired by the sketch. And yes its really simple to start with. Because we all need baby steps now and then.

Fixing and Updating

Due to Thats Scrap Inc no longer selling cutter files, and the closure of my own website, many links on my blog are now broken. So I've been working to remove the broken ones and update things a little.

I've also been updating the labels to hopefully clarify some of the categories and make searches easier for you. There is a lot of posts on this blog, so please bear with me while I do the updates.

I haven't been designing like I thought I would once the kids went back to school. First term is almost over, the weather has cooled significantly and I'm having a lovely time rediscovering all my scrapping toys and trinkets. I'm pushing out of my comfort zone and putting things together that I wouldn't have before and am loving the results.

I think its finally time to get all those sizzix dies on ebay, as well as a bunch of stamps and CM things I'll never use and make some space for some new creations. I also have a stack of premade pages taking up space...maybe an early spring clean is in order. Nothing like making room for new goodies!

Changes

Its been a couple months since my last post. There's been some changes which you may have noticed. Thats Scrap Inc is no longer selling cutter files, they are still selling machines and supplies so have a look there if you need something.

My Lets Be Scrappy store is offline. Unfortunately the cost to renew the website was ridiculous. I am looking into other options, but at this stage I haven't had the time to make any decisions.

Christmas Racoon

I know its been awhile since there's been any new files, life just gets so busy and involved at times its hard to keep up with everything.

Unfortunately this was one area that wasn't shouting and demanding at me so it quietly slid to the back and waited its turn. Which is both good and bad :) Good being its lovely and refreshing to be able to design again!

Today I have this cute little racoon who's helping with the Christmas decorations. Its that time of year and I know my boys are dying to help decorate the tree. How long the enthusiasm lasts once they start I'm not sure, but there will definately be a good helping of baubles in unusual placings on the tree. So grab those photos, or snap some of your new little person in their look of wonder and team them with this cute little racoon.

The bauble is pieced seperately to the racoon so it can be added to other Christmas pages as well.

Beach Ball Bear

I can feel summer coming. The weather is definately warming up, my washing is drying a whole lot easier, and the grass is starting to grow again. The warm thoughts inspired me to design this cute little bear with his beach ball. It'll be instore later today or tomorrow. Add it to your summer or beach pages. Ready 4 a Dip

This tough looking monkey is not so tough with its floaties! This file will go perfectly with summer photos at the pool, swimming lessons, running around crazy under the sprinker, or even bath photos.

The floaties have their own little mats to give them that nice look in line with the rest of the pieces. The face and feet markings are cut with the cutter and then penned over so no worries about weird and wonky faces on your monkey.

Fairy Village Layout

The fairy flower and houses that I've shown over the past few days have been made into a little village. The background mat is in one piece to make them nice and simple to piece together. The door handle and window crosses are hand drawn, so no tiny little pieces to cut. The mushroom spots and their mats are added over the top of the mushrooms, so they don't have to be included if you prefer yours without them. I've chosen very simple pinks and mauves, but your mushrooms can be made in any colour.

I love how these have turned out. My new cutter has been having a good workout!.

I was searching for some photos to complete one of my albums, the ones needed to create the last layout of the album - which of course I still can't find, but I did come across a few gorgeous pics of my daughter dressed up as a little fairy ballerina. So I've decided to make a setting to go with them.

Goodbye to a dear friend

On the 19th of July 2010 a dear friend suddenly passed away. She was full of life, clearly loved her husband and daughters and was an inspiration to all that knew her.

I'm home from New Zealand. What a beautiful country. I've had an amazing time, spent some wonderful moments with some online friends, and learnt lots of new techniques from the classes I attended at SENZ.

Driving down the highway on the way to Hamner Springs was a brilliant photo opportunity. To get the best pic though you had to stand in the middle of the road! But definately worth the risk.

I snapped this one on the way back to Christchurch. The cows a bit blurry because we were doing 100km/hr or thereabouts, but the mountains are just amazing.

Soccer Ball: Thats my team!

Gosh its been ages again since my last post. I've been busy working on pages - even ran out of photos a couple of times, I've been doing some digi pages, sketching and creating some new designs.

Tonights new cutter file is in honour of both the Socceroo's who have their last chance tonight to make it through to the next round of the World Cup, and for my boys who love their soccer (football) and have their team pics on the weekend. Go the Wildcats!

The cutter file has a stand alone soccer ball and a stand alone title, plus a mat to easily put them together as shown in the picture. I'll get them up in the store shortly.

I thought this file could have lots of uses. A walkathon, A marathon. A baby's first steps. Building a house or renovating, or creating a garden. You could also use part of the title and have 'step it out' for a dancing page. Anything that has to be done, using steps.

Alpine Adventure Layout

Here's my layout using May nTitled's Alpine Adventure. Its taken a couple days to get it uploaded because my camera takes AA batteries, and guess what, so does the Wii, so my boys think its ok to borrow my camera batteries and leave me with flat ones. Boys! Anyway its here now and then I can get on with sharing some of my other titles and layouts from nTitled.

On the snowflake I used Liquid Applique. When heated it puffed up and gives a great 3D effect.

10 Pin Bowling Cutter File

Late the other night, or should I say early the other morning? I was making my son's birthday invitations. We are having a party at 10 pin bowling, so I of course decided to whip up an invite. So now that I've got my new cutter up and running, it was time to investigate how to do a print and cut.

Well after figuring out the calibration, I have to say it was super duper easy peasy! They were magnificent, in the shape of a bowling pin and had all the details printed onto them. And after a string of birthday parties from my sons friends, his invites were declared the best so far :)

I'll upload the bowling pin into my freebies section when I get a chance. And if you have a Black Cat Cutter, make sure you try a print and cut. You'll love the results.

Blowhole cutter file

Growing up I was often taken for picnics at Kiama, and was always amazed at the blowhole there. I'm sure Dad took us on the wild weekends just to see how high it could blow.

Living further up the east coast now, my kids haven't had those experiences, so when opportunity arose to take them there I jumped at the chance. And to add to the pleasureable time there, they were just as delighted and amazed as I was as a kid.

I love these little pigs. They remind me of the animal nursery at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, so cute!

Always in summer there are loads of flies around, the great Aussie wave its called if you're at a bbq. For this file I've drawn a very fat, well fed, fly. He looks pooped and ready for a good afternoon kip (siesta).

I think it would work perfectly with bbq photos, hanging out with friends, or relaxing on a hot summers afternoon.

As always I've included a mat just for the fly so he can be used without the title. He's available in March '10 nTitled membership at Thats Scrap Inc.

Cutter File: Aboriginal Outback Adventure

I think things are finally coming under control around here. The State Titles for Surf Lifesaving were on last Fri/Sat/Sun. I lost 3kg just on Friday walking around and sweating it out on the beach. It was hot! And of course one child was at the far northern end, another the southern end and my DD was stationed in the middle.

My 3 kids all competed in different events, swim, board, ironman, sprint, flags, relays, wade, and board rescue. My youngest was determined to win a medal, which is really difficult to do at that level. After coming 4th in the sprint relay he was even more determined and happily I can tell you that late Sunday afternoon he and his teammates won gold in the wade relay. He was so excited, as was I!

So this week its back to work, and today I've finished a new file set I've been working on. Each component in the title is also available seperately with its own mat. The cutter file features an Aboriginal boy, a rainbow serpent and a boomerang.

Over the last couple of weeks I've taken on the giant task of cleaning out my study. Its not only my scrapping space, but my design space, my cutting area, where the computer is, and where the family dumps all the bills and anything else that they want me to see. Plus there's the normal file storage of all the documents and statements, and lots of paper and scrapping and stamping supplies.

I figured when there was hardly any floor left to be seen that it was definately time!

So not only have I found some wonderful embellishments that have been lost for a while, I also found one of my sketch pads with some great ideas in it, and lots of scraps with ideas scribbled down.

We decided to swap my desk with my sons upstairs because mine would suit his needs better and his would give me more space to spread out. Unfortunately my desk exploded going up the stairs ending in 3 seperate chunks, the bolts holding it together tearing completely through the wood. A card table was suggested as a temporary replacement, great idea but I didn't have, so today we dragged out the camping tables and hey presto I now have a cropping/computer/cutting space again. YAH!

I gave up on tidying today and have 5 layouts organised ready to stick down, except....it would appear in the move and reorganisation my tape runner has fled and hidden, or I've run out. So as soon as I can grab some more I'll get them finished and upload and share. :)

Gosh its been a while. I've had a lovely break, which was definately much needed. My kids have just gone back to school and are all pleased with their new classes and teachers. Which is great. DD has progressed into high school and seems quite happy so far. Yesterday was her first day of real classes so it will be interesting to watch her as she settles in. I'm hoping she loves it :)

I had a lovely email from Karon while I was on break showing me the great job she did with my 3rd nTitled file from January. Here it is here on her layout...looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your page with us!

With Christmas just been, and Easter coming up, and Confirmation's and Holy Communions, and even just singing in the Church choir or at carols, I thought this cutter file would be suitable for all these events.

The little person also has its own mat so you can use it without the title, or add it to the front of a card for a special celebration.

To make the person with the title, paper piece the person first, then overlay the title.

Don't forget a new NTitled membership starts on New Years Day. I've just finished test cutting my files for it, which was a bit amusing in itself given my one handedness. My DH had to help. He's watched the cutter in motion before, but never has had to trim the paper, stick it to the mat, roll it in, and then pull off the cut result.

It arrived!!

My new cutter has arrived just in time for Christmas. Of course it hasn't made it under the tree because I'm so excited to use it. So here I was unpacking it, carefully slide it out of the box using the hand holds as per the instructions. Then carefully cut the cable ties without wrecking the cutting strip. 1 down. 2 down. hmm scissors won't cut through the next one. What can I use?

Yep most of us have one...the trusty craft knife...aka scapel. slowly...gently...a bit more pressure (can u see where this is going?) yep straight through it and my finger and tendon that was on the other side.

So after 6 hours in the emergency room and xrays to see that I didn't cut the joint open, I now have a very sore finger which I can't bend or use, and I can't use my cutter :( But it looks lovely sitting on my desk!

With just 4 sleeps until Santa comes I'm finding there's lots of jobs still to be done. We're having a pre Christmas dinner on Wednesday night, so I've got the turkey defrosting and need to head to the store to get the last ingredients to make dessert. I've still got my cards to write, interstate parcels to post and lots of pressies to wrap.

Now if you're a little behind in the organisation like I seem to have become, and need a little file to make your Christmas tags with, there's nothing better than whipping up some home made ones! Today's free cutter file is a Christmas Bauble. Of course you can also use it as an embellishment on your Christmas pages, or it would look great on a card. Hi folks. I know its been a week and Monday Madness slid into oblivion again this week, but there's been so much going on my brain hasn't been able to cope with designing as well. I have just made a new file so as soon as its test cut I'll get it up and show you.

I also have some exciting news! I'm getting a new cutter!!! Its left the store at Thats Scrap Inc and is now heading over the Pacific towards me. I'm hoping it'll arrive before Christmas!! What am I getting? Its a Black Cat Cougar 13". Can't wait for it to arrive!!

Welcome to the Silly Season

No I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, but I am very overwhelmed at the moment. Apologies that there was no Monday madness this week but I just had no chance to fit it in. I know there's big snow storms across the States at the moment, but here...its hot and humid and there's 100 bushfires burning in NSW. None locally which is good for us. Plus my kids finish school tomorrow for the year and don't go back until the end of January so we've had lots of extra end of year activities to fit in.

Hopefully next week will calm down and my head will clear and some new designs will be able to flow. My brain is so conjested that nothings coming out at the moment, lol.

If you've been following my blog for a while now, you'd know that every month I contribute files to the Thats Scrap Inc nTitled Membership. I was very organised for Novembers files and sent them early because I was travelling overseas.

Now we all know what happens with the best laid plans and the internet...yep they went missing, I was uncontactable, and a couple of the other designers stepped up and made some files to cover my missing ones. Thanks ladies!

Yesterday was 43 deg C where I live. Thats 109.4 for all the Fahrenheit people. Horrible horrible temperature. So playing on the computer was out, so please bear with me and I'll get some new files up as soon as I can.

My last Halloween party spread, and a party wouldn't be complete without the food. The kids and parents loved the scary food. We had ghost brownies, spider cupcakes, cheese fingers, witches brooms, mummy pizzas and a jack-o-lantern shaped ice cream cake.

Layout: Mind Your Mummy

Still on the Halloween Party theme, this layout uses another one of Char's files, this time from the October nTitled membership cutter files. The kids had a great time playing the mummy game, it was hilarious watching a bunch of 5 and 6 year olds trying to wrap themselves in toilet paper. We ended up with toilet paper spread across the whole backyard.

Monday Madness

Wow its been a hectic Monday. I've still got the lurgy that I brought home with me from my travels, I quit the gym (boy did that feel good!) and I negotiated the local supermarket that is being renovated in an attempt to bring home food for the family. I successfully found everything except cheese. Which of course we needed for tonights dinner. But I have managed to get together a free cutter file for Monday Madness.

Its only 6 weeks to Christmas so I thought it was time to start on some Christmas files. I've reworked this Christmas Tree into a cutter file and I think its turned out great. Don't forget to ink or chalk or bling it to add your own personal charm.

Each bauble is unique, so take care when cutting so you can adhere them in the right order :)

Well folks I've made it home. I've had a great time in San Fransisco and Texas. I was able to meet a whole bunch of lovely scrapping ladies, share some silly moments, and watch faces as they tried our Aussie Tim Tams :) I'm thinking they liked it a whole lot better than the vegemite last year, lol.

So this week as I recover, things will be returning to normal here. I'm hoping jet lag won't be too much of a problem as I slept 17 hours last night, but I have come home with a whole head cold/sinus infection thing so we shall see.

Monday Madness will return next Monday.

Fall in Austin

I had a lovely time staying in Austin. I took this photo when we went for a hike down the local canyon. It was really nice and relaxing listening to the water running. At the bottom there was this original settlers house. Unfortunately it was all boarded up, but it was nice sitting there and taking in the scenery.

I'm heading out tomorrow morning for an overseas trip to visit San Fransisco and Texas! Plus I'm meeting up with a bunch of lovely scrapping ladies in both spots and going to a scrapbook retreat in Texas. I'll be gone for 2 weeks, but I'll try and log on where I can and update you with some pics and files.

You may have noticed there was no Mad Monday file yesterday. Well that was because it was so mad that I totally ran out of time to post. I have some things prepared for when I return, they just need test cutting. If you are interested in becoming a test cutter, email me which file type you'd be interested in and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

So am I packed? No not yet, but the suitcase is open on the bed, so thats a good start. And the camera and passport are sitting and waiting. Here's to a great trip!

Todays Monday Madness is a little 3 inch card holder that I made some time back. I've converted it to GSD AI EPS SVG DXF and KNK. Remember when pouncing/cutting the dashed lines, don't have your pressure up too far. High pressure can cause your blade tip to bend or snap. The dashed lines are your fold lines that help for the shape of your card holder.

Make 3 inch cards to go in this holder, or a card and a choc'y as a small gift for Christmas. Remember to decorate the card holder as well. I'd love to see some of your creations.

I was seriously enabled when I went to Texas. There was Hobby Lobby, Archivers, LSS's. I know we have scrapbook stores in Australia, but nothing I've ever seen compares to these. And the prices were so cheap, and the choice so great, and then there's the coupons. Yep, shopping heaven!

A great thing about a scrapbook retreat is meeting all these lovely like minded woman. Being able to meet the ladies that I've chatted and swapped with for the last 5 years or so was brilliant. October nTitled: The Adventure Begins

Last year I jetted off to the USA to meet 50 scrapbooking ladies at a retreat in Texas. It was definately an adventure, going by myself, leaving my family behind, meeting all these new people, eating unusual food, auto flushing toilets, shopping, driving on the wrong side of the road, staying at someones house who I'd just met, more shopping (Archivers, Hobby Lobby, LSS), lots of laughter and exhaustion, and a huge travel time 30+ hours, 2 trains, 3 planes (one way) and a wonderful stranger who collected me late at night from the airport and gave me a bed to sleep in.

So for the my first October nTitled file I created a plane wing that you'd see as you look out of the plane window, and title The Adventure Begins.

Why does it always have to rain when we go camping? I'd say Camp In The Rain - It Saves Washing, except I know for certain that it definately creates more, and then there's the drying out of all the camping gear. I'm a tad annoyed in fact, that not only was it wet, so we couldn't do the activities we wanted, but it was also noisy thanks to rude teenagers so I've hardly slept for a week, and I paid a lump of money to stay on a patch of gravel!

Anyhow, I know today is Monday, but I'm totally not prepared. So next week I promise I'll get back into the swing of free files and what ever other goodies I come up with. There is some great things in the works, wait and see!

Dust Storm

I've been real busy over the last week. Preparing files for next months nTitled membership, scrapping, and cleaning up from last Wednesday's dust storm. Here's what I woke to a week ago.

My DH has been quietly complaining about me spending too much time on the computer, so since he was home over the weekend I spent time with him and the family and only got the laptop out last night to check on my emails. And he's been home this morning, so as a result I haven't finished what I wanted to share for today.

But I figure you still need a sneak peek :) So this is what I'm working on. This is my funky man. I haven't quite decided if he should be holding a surfboard or a guitar, we'll have to wait and see how he turns out. He looks like he could even be riding a Harley.

Cricket Cutter File

Last year my sons decided to play cricket. This wasn't something they'd done before as a sport, in the whites, so it was with keen anticipation that they started. Being the age they are, the youngest joined Milo Cricket, which is all skills based, in the grounds of the local country cafe, on a Saturday morning, lots of fun. And then my eldest son joined the Super 8's non comp competition, if that makes sense. You play against other teams from around the district and winners are determined after each game, but theres no overall winner at the end of the season.

Anyway I've added this title to the pics that I took at the start of the season. While the whites were still white, before they became grass stained and needed copious amounts of soaking. And on a rare occasion where the ball actually made it the whole way down the pitch to enable the batsman to hit it and actually score runs.

The cutter file includes an additional mat without the word season in case you need to add 'one day' 'test' 'backyard' or whatever your pics are of. I've also included the words 'Under 9's' in the file, feel free to add the appropriate age. If your child plays cricket and you get to sit there for hours watching, I thought you deserved a bonus :)

Oh and for some strange reason, we're not playing team cricket this year. But there will forever be backyard cricket, street cricket with the stumps painted onto the wheelie bins, the perpetual hitting of the practice ball that hangs off the awning in the backyard, and the famous Christmas Day match while waiting for the turkey to cook.

Finally I have something new to show you. I'm in desperate need for a new blade, and I had to do a brad run, but I've got it finished! My DH is right into golf, and now my boys love going as well, although he hasn't actually let them on the course yet, just the local driving range. So I figure soon enough I'll get some pics to go with this.

The pack includes the 2 lions, phrase, balls, tee, sign, flag and hole. The sign can be cut without the hole information, either add your own info for the hole you're on, or the course info, or a cute phrase. I can imagine 'WARNING wife on golf course' for when I dust my clubs off, lol.

Monday Madness

Wow where did the week go? And where did the weekend go? Lets see, nTitled Files, sewing, book parade, dancing, soccer, beach, washing, shopping, kids, work, cleaning....yep I guess that about sums it up!

And so its Monday again, which means its time for some Monday Madness! Todays file can be used as a whole paper pieced title, or just the boat, with or without waves - in case yours need to be stuck on a sand bank or something! Or you could add some little paper people to it. Or you can use it with the title or have the title seperate somewhere else on your page. Lots of possibilities. I've included one whole base mat for those that want to have ease in piecing it together as a whole unit.
